September Affirmations 2026

“What they call you is one thing. What you answer to is something else.” -Lucille Clifton

The Universe saw it fit to hit Me with a major factory reset. I took a week off of work and immediately got sick before it began; by a miracle, I was able to enjoy a party at my home that Saturday, had a decent weekend overall, though it lacked rest, which catapulted Me right back into being sick that next week. Needless to say, I’m fresh off of two weeks of basically being in bed and downloading. I listened to my thoughts and assessed them - what did they make Me? Who am I? Am I the same or different as I was? Both? In what ways?

I didn’t come to any concrete answers that I could necessarily give to someone else, if asked. I came to the conclusion, though, that this wasn’t the point. It doesn’t matter how well I am able to articulate to someone else who I believe I am; what matters is my understanding of myself, this doesn’t always take words. I’ve come to just know what alignment feels like, as I hope and believe many of us have. I know what it feels like to be Me - I know who I am and I can feel it when I’m off. I also have a clear view of who I’m still striving to be and I’ll know if that feels right too, once I arrive.

I am the authority on who I am. You are the authority on who You are. All we can do is try our best to be good to one another, to be kind, to see each other positively, to give grace; we must understand though that we may miss the mark from time to time. Someone else’s inability to see You as You are is not your responsibility. You must ensure that You don’t betray yourself.

Here are some affirmations as we root ourselves in self-knowing.

I am the authority on who I am.

I remain grounded in my authenticity.

I prioritize radical honesty, first and foremost, with myself.

While I am open to correction, I will not wear anyone’s negative projections of Me.

I give grace to those who can only see Me from their limited view.

I Love and accept myself deeply.

I am who I say I am.

Asé - sending You so much Love into this month and season ahead.
